Can't Wait

I know it is only January 16th, but I can't help it.
I can't wait for my Bleeding Heart bushes to come alive. They are usually
one of the first flowers to come alive in the early Spring.
I think that we have seen enough white stuff already. We need some colors
in our lives: pink, yellow, red, orange and blue flowers will certainly make
the scenery more interesting.
It is a good thing that we have lots of evergreens here in our yard, otherwise, it would be mostly white.
Are you tired of white?

We have had snow twice this winter and some years we don't get it at all. So I am enjoying our snowfall today.

Yes I've generally been seeing grey and white lately- although when the sun does come out it seems really bright!

I don't look out the window, unless I'm checking for the mail:) Bleeding hearts are beautiful, they were one of my mother's favorite flowers, too.

They are very lovely flowers and to come out so early.
We have Sweet Alysum just popping through in bits and pieces as it grows wild here and smells so nice.

I mean Sweet Alysum of course.

Every year I'm helping my aunt Mary grow bleeding hearts. Last year the plants bloomed in March and they began to yellow and wither away in May. Those beautiful hearts brightened up my aunt's garden, but they only lasted for two measly months. Summer happened.

That's true. They do come back every year. My aunt told me the other day she can't wait to see them bloom... :)
