Well, I found the replacement part I need

So hopefully the food processor will be back up and running soon. That will be a good thing because it was very expensive and I loved it! I used it for marinades, purees, and shredding things like cheese and vegetables. The bottom plastic "work bowl" (as it was called) was only $35. After an $8 shipping fee (and that was refusing 2nd and next day air), it was $43 to get the thing to my house. In any case, I'll be happy when it gets here and my husband and I won't have to be fighting over our Ninja blender. He can use it for breakfast smoothies and I can use my 11 cup Cuisinart Prep Food Processor to cook. Sounds fair to me.

I think I would stroke out if my food processor quit on me. I depend on it too much.

That's one of the biggest reasons I hesitate when buying big ticket kitchen items - unless I know someone that can fix it I'll hee-haw about forking out the money to get it up and working.

I’ll be happy to have it working again. I have the mini-prep for small jobs but it isn’t the same.

Probably worth the price to replace rather than but a new one. Shipping costs drive me crazy
