Finding a UFO

Getting ready for a big move involves sorting and packing.....boxes. This morning I pulled out a box with seldom used sewing supplies...things I used years ago that have been replaced with new, more efficient supplies. One box held an almost finished potholder.....it's been waiting fir at least 20 years for me to add the binding. Binding has been my nemesis for years....I had trouble getting corners to cooperate... About five years ago I learned a new method to attach bindings and mitre the corners....it's made such a difference.....bindings are now easily and accurately applied. So the UFO that's been hiding in a corner for 20+ years is finally completed!

@rebelann 40 something sounds positively balmy...our high today was -5°C, around 20°F. The wind chill tomorrow evening is supposed to be -20°C, about -6°F. The weather is always a good topic!

moving, ugh I am not a fan of sorting through all that stuff. Of course staying put means I accumulate tons of stuff too.

@Morleyhunt It is hard to do. I am one of those people that thinks I might need it, so I should keep it.

@Morleyhunt very true and I have been thinking about that more and more. I may tackle some of it this summer when I have more time.

@mom210 twice I've had to put everything in own into storage. You do learn to purge. Then...two years ago....we had to empty my parents home of 50 years. Yikes. I need to purge a lot more....I don't want my children to need to deal with that at some future date.

Very nice, you did a great job on it. I know all about packing and finding unfinished projects, I just did that myself.

@cintol I've moved a lot over the years. I've never lived anywhere that long...ever. Some moves (several in fact) the boxes never all get unpacked.

Finishing projects is the name of the game this week. I mended something that has been waiting for a couple of years as well. Now I'm feeling ambitious,

@taciaelisepeace today was spent running around for my father and delivering a wedding gown. Now I'm home....supper is inside me and the rest of the evening is open for creativity.

The method I learned (courtesy of my youngest daughter) is virtually goof proof and oh so quick.
