Enough with the dentures. The weather is still depressing...so we won't talk about that either. Hubby is at work....so I can work on the quilt I mounted on my frame two days ago. Who knew just how useful pool noodles would be when sandwiching a quilt. This saves time and a lot of wear and tear on my knees and back. This project won't be completed before the weekend is over. It probably won't be finished when we flip the calendar page to February. My latest quilting project was a mystery quilt front pieced together in the spring. The photo shows the quilt rolled onto the pool noodles so I can get it ready for quilting.

@yugocean it's now 4:30 PM and I just came I from helping hubby for a couple of hours. I was clever enough to start a crockpot with chili for supper.

Right now..I'm taking a short break...enjoying my coffee and spending a few minutes on Mylot. Soon I'll fix myself some breakfast and get busy with the tasks of the day. It's 6:15 AM.

Pool noodles are useful for a lot of things! That quilt is beautiful. I like this one the best of any of yours I have seen I believe. Reminds of a room in my parents house the “lavender room” which was a spare room.

@Morleyhunt yes I recall you are going to try the long arm machine. I look forward to reading about your experience after you use it. I wonder how it got the name Lola

I like each quilt for different reasons. The quilt I plan to long arm quilt on February 14 (I have a date with the machine named Lola) is one of my all time favourite quilts. Pictures will be shared after the quilting is done as well as a discussion about the experience, (I've wanted to try a long arm machine for a number of years....finally I have my opportunity.

@shaggin no idea how it was named. There seem to be a lot of women who name their sewing machines....just like some men name their cars.

I have no idea of what the pool noodles are until searching it online.
SwimWays pool noodles are made in USA! Our pool noodles come in bright colors and two sizes. Pool noodle accessories (imported) are also available!.

Just think! You learned something new. What a pool noodle is and an unorthodox use for the pool noodle.

@Morleyhunt The producer should thank you for expanding the use of the pool noodle.

@changjiangzhibin89 I'm not the one who found this unique use. I have shared it with others.

That's a pretty smart idea using the noodles to roll up the fabric like that. Can't wait to see the finished product on this one, you'll have to name it your LOP, you Last Ontario Project as it sounds like the timeline might run into your moving date.

I expect I'll be taking a partially quilted piece off the frame and finishing it up in New Brunswick...but then...you never know...sometimes thing just move along quickly and I might get it done.

@Morleyhunt Sometimes the simplest things are those that work better.

Thank you. I purchased these noodles last year. They've been used several times and each time I am amazed at how simple the process is.

I'm glad you explained about the pool noodles. I was a bit confused for a while.

I had heard about using pool noodles to sandwich a quilt....sounded a tad bizarre...but then I saw a video and decided I would give it a try. $10 in pool noodles wasn't going to break the bank....and if it didn't work (sometimes these things just don't seem to be within my grasp) I'd give them to my daughter (she has a pool). When I had pinned my first project...I was ready to write a commercial. It was as easy as it looked...and it made that step less painful and much quicker.
