A dermatologist appointment and the rest of my day

This morning I brewed my coffee and it tasted so super sweet I couldn’t drink it. When I dumped it out all the powdered creamer hadn’t dissolved. I think I had accidentally put double the amount in and the coffee had cooled to much when I put the powdered creamer in. I also think some of the vinegar I dumped in to clean the machine didn’t rinse out well enough. At 11am my daughter had an appointment with a dermatologist. I should have taken her years ago but I kept assuming the acne would clear up if she would wash her face more routinely instead of being so forgetful. The dermatologist said not to use a washcloth and to wash her face with Dove soap. He gave her a prescription for Doxycycline to take daily. At 2:30 I had an appointment with my family doctor to refill my antidepressants. I was in the office about an hour because they were so backed up and busy. We stopped at the library and picked up 6 movies to borrow. Unfortunately they didn’t have Steel Magnolias which I’ve been wanting to see. We had leftovers for dinner and my dad stopped over after to visit and watched the rest of the Elf movie that was on with my daughter. Photo is one I edited of my puppy’s paw just to add something to this boring post

I didn't find your post boring at all but that's a fun photo! I have a photo of Herc's teeth. I wanted to show people how sheep have a hard pad on the top jaw but no teeth - at least not in the front.

Aww thank you. Most the time I think people will be bored to tears with my posts and I choose not to write to many for that reason especially. I think I recall you tell before about their teeth but I don't recall if I saw a photo. That's so interesting and seems so odd. I think there is more that I recall such as them losing teeth too as they get older?

@JudyEv that is absolutely adorable! I love my puppies tiny little teeth. The one day I saw her little teeth in the front on the bottom were missing then a few days later she had slightly bigger ones there.

@shaggin Yes, they lose their teeth in pairs and grow a second set - much like humans I guess.

@Courtlynn ahh must be once she started into premenopause. The doctor told me to look up adult acne for mine but I've never stopped having it since I was small so I don't consider mine adult onset acne.

I was wondering why the pupp'y paw photo, now I know. This post is not boring at all. I had an acne problem when I was around 13 years old. The doctor prescribed something to clean the skin in the evening and in the morning and the acne disappeared.

Aww I'm glad you didn't find it boring. I have battled with acne since I was very small. I was about 7 like my daughter when my face started breaking out. She is 13 and starting to care more how her skin looks. That's amazing yours cleared up overnight with whatever you used!

Whoever told me my acne would go away once I was an adult LIED! I will be 34 in a couple weeks and still have breakouts. It drives me nuts. Nothing I've ever used has helped. I get acne on my chest, upper arms, shoulders, and back too. I'm beginning to think I'm just doomed to have acne for the rest of my life.

@Srbageldog my daughter washed with Dove tonight for the first time and I will be in a few minutes. I don’t know why but I’m really excited to see if this helps.

Same here. I'm 34 and usually have at least a few pimples on my face. My mother is in her late 50s and still gets them all these years. My aunt had to take acutain and my late husbands brother had to take it as well so my poor daughters doomed from both sides. I'll try the dove soap. None of the medicines they gave me to treat it ever helped. The past two years I've had it on my body which I never had to deal with before I really hate it!

@shaggin Hopefully the Dove soap helps. That is what I use to wash with too (everything else makes me break out more.) I guess some of us are just doomed to have adult acne!

That movie is one of my favorites, though I didn't see the Lifetime remake of it, a couple of years ago. I've used Neutrogena to wash my face, though I haven't done it in years. I might have to go back to it next month. Hope you have a good night. Cute paw print!

I want to watch both but nothing has it. I will have to ask my library to get them for me from another library. I used Neutrogena stuff when I was young and it burned my face. Same thing with Olay. My skin is so sensitive!

I hate when something like that ruins my morning drink. The other day I made cappuccino at work and by the time I figured out that it did not come with sugar it was too late.

We went to this guy before when my daughter had 5ths disease and one other kind of rash as well. This took me about 2 months to get her in to see him. I assume because he is so busy and only at this hospital once a week he takes the cases first that are more pressing like shingles etc whereas acne is awful but is not contagious or life threatening.

My daughter just didn't care about her appearance and would forget to wash her face in the shower. Now that she started using a face wash I got her with salyic acid in it her face looks half better. We ran out of it right before her appointment though. She is starting the doxycycline tonight at dinner and I will be buying Dove soap tomorrow.

I've never heard of it being used for a cough either. There is one that starts with a D that worked great when my daughter was little but I don't recall the name although I know for sure it was not doxycycline.

My face isn't as dry after using it. It doesn't leave behind a residue like other soaps. I actually watched a commerical thing about it on Crowdtap a few days before so then when the dermatologist mentioned it I knew it had to be worth a try.

When my youngest brother in law wanted to join the military they would not accept him until he cleared up his acne. One of the things his dermatologist had him do was eliminate iodized salt. Hope this treatment helps your daughter as doxycycline is a strong anti biotic..

Hmm I had never heard about acne from that but I am sure what we eat can effect out skin. No matter how healthy I ate or how bad my face always broke out but this is worth thinking about the salt connection. She and I both are trying the Dove soap and my face feels less dry today after using it. I didn't know the military would keep people out due to acne that's crazy!
