A Little White Stuff Goes A Long Way

My kids have been waiting for a long time for some snow. They waited all winter last winter and none ever came for our area. They called for it a couple times already this winter and nothing happened. The kids would hear on the radio the possibility of some snow, they would get excited, and I would remind them "remember where you live you are not getting any snow." My 8 year would be quick to remind me, but it HAS snowed here before.
Well they finally got some, a light little dusting really, but it was enough to make them happy. It was a very dry one, not wet enough even for a snow ball. Do you think that stopped them? oh no. They were out there bright and early in the whopping 22 degree temps to play.
They spent most of the day out there coming in to warm up every so often and to change out of the wet clothes. That little bit of snow made them very happy, but tripled my already large laundry loads. But hey, if it made the little guys happy, who am I to complain? I got the day off, here in the south when the white stuff falls, everything stops. All our activities were called off for the day and a few the day after. A day off running, sooo very very nice.
Have you seen any snow this year? Also, can any body tell me what size a photo needs to be to post it. I got a new camera and was trying to post a photo with this post but I think it might be to big because I am having issues posting it. Thank you.

Have I seen snow? She asks. I live in Canada! An area referred to as the Banana Belt (it's between the Great Lakes, which tends to temper our temperatures.).
This year we have had snow! Have you heard of Buffalo, NY. We are about 20 minutes west of Buffalo...and someone has left the door open. Buffalos snow has leaked out and we are covered with that white stuff.
My husband is getting tired to clearing the farm driveways...every hour, yesterday!

@Morleyhunt as a kid they are pretty easy to deal with but man, as I get older, I really feel that cold and have a lot less patience with it.

@mom210 the last two winters we've had very little snow. This winter has been more like the winters I remember having as a child.

Aw I am sure it did make them so happy-that's awesome! =) I'm glad they had a good time-sorry for your extra laundry though. Lol

@JudyEv yes, we have it so little most have no clue how to drive on it or deal with it. One inch of snow kept the kids out of school for three days. We live in a rural area so it was slow to melt on the back roads,
we have a lot of gravel roads. We are used to it, we have lived in a lot of places that had it, but none of our kids are used to it, they were all born here.

To much we have had a couple snows now, and that is enough for me, you can have it all.

Isn't it amazing what can make kids happy, Kim? (grinning at you!)
We had enough snow to bury my car last week. (I kept trying to post the photo but it just wouldn't show on myLot. IDK if that is a problem with the size of my photo or if myLot was having a problem. Normally, I can post photos I've taken with my phone with no problem.)
I am dropping my photo down in size and trying to post it here. We shall see.

@mom210 576 x 1024. I opened it in Paint and decreased it's size by 50%.
This photo was taken at the same time but without being reduced in size. I thought I was being silly trying to get it to post on myLot!

@DaddyEvil Thank you, I need to sit and mess with it a bit. I noticed a few of my older posts lost the photos in them. I wonder if something changed about the sizes we can post.

So what size did you finally get to post? I tried with mine tons of time for this post and it would not take. Then I tried a different photo and still nothing. @DaddyEvil

Haha, thats how it is here in Texas. My grandkids hope for snow and they get very little here. If they get a dusting the whole city closes up but they said "grandma, at least you know how to drive in it' but where is there to go, everything closes. It is nothing like Colorado here but I don't mind not having to shovel

@ridingbet Yes, I will try that. I need to just sit down and play with it I guess to figure out what works for my camera.

Sadly I have never experienced snow. My country is temperate. The kids sounds like they had a wonderful time. I too would be excited...until I realize how unprepared I am for the cold. I post pix any where from 500 to 1000 pixel.

Yes, we do not have good gloves for the snow, I need to get better ones so they do not get wet hands. @Gita17112016

@Gita17112016 yes, they get cold easier. The ones we have are normal for mild temps and not being in the snow they are just cloth. They do not sell many of the water resistant type ones that help keep the hands dry. When I see them here I grab them so we do have a few pairs. I need to go shopping in a cold area I know they probably sell lots of them.

@mom210 I have never had the experience. What happens if your hands got wet? I supposed you'll freeze up. I tried a pair of gloves on but it was so bulky and I wasn't too comfortable.
