Watching the Rebuilding of a Medical Building that Burned Down in 2016

It's been almost two years since this medical building, which housed a medical lab we used to go to for blood tests, burned down. It's on a street near the hospital that has nothing but medical buildings on it. Since I've had many occasions to be on that street in the past few months for medical appointments and Hubby's eye surgeries, I'd had plenty of changes to observe the construction in progress. I've taken lots of photos and videos as the work has progressed. I take photo walks before or after my own appointments or while I was waiting for Hubby to get out of cataract surgery.
I never used to pay too much attention to construction sites, but my son loved them. When he was a preteen and a teen, he used to get up early and ride his
bike to construction sites near our neighborhood in time to get there before the men started work, while they were still drinking their coffee. He had a way of getting to know and relate easily to strangers, and these construction workers seemed to take to him. He was genuinely interested in their work and they answered all his questions about what they were doing. They even let him pound a few nails until the foreman found out and make him stay off the site for safety reasons once the men started working. He was crushed when that happened.
Anyway, I've been rather interested in seeing the progress on this building and I'm about halfway through a pictorial blog post on it. My videos are on YouTube. I just can't seem to finish the post. I keep getting distracted by sites like this one.
Are you interested in construction? Do you like to follow the progress of new construction near your home? Have you ever built a house or had a contractor build one for you? If so, what parts of the process interest you the most? The machines? The carpentry? Something else?
Do you have a child who loves to watch people building houses and commercial buildings? If so, do you know how to explain to them what's going on or can you tell them the names of the machines working on the site?
I'm having to research just to label my photos and video keywords. How much to you know about construction?

Did you enjoy that? What part of the building did you help with?

I think when he was thirteen he liked the idea of being an archeologist, but I'll never know what he would have become. He never got older than 14. I'll always wonder. He loved anything mechanical, but he also liked to explore.
