From beautiful to bald as Meghan makes the royals sparkle.

The arrival of the media savvy and glamorous Meghan Markel to the Royal Family has put the Duke and Duchess of Cambridgeshire on the back foot somewhat. They have been dominating the press over the last year or so as Harry slowly crept up on them in the publicity stakes. Harry loved the military but too much of a risk around foreign policy and so left to his own devices somewhat after the Royals forced him out. The Invictus Games has been good PR but he needed something more to trump his brother and her name is Meghan. Kate quickly bombed down the Soho hairdressers for a Hollywood cut the week after Harry’s engagement and now poor old balding Prince William has had to have a short back and sides to get publicity. It’s not quite a Britney Spears moment but signs that Kate is aware she is not getting in the national papers and news TV so much now the American babe is here and working her old crowd. And that crowd love Meghan, screams the Beatles would be happy with at most of her public events, screams the handsome young teenage William used to get. In Brixton, a mostly black area of London, the girls were screaming for Meghan, not Harry, her black genes more important to them than her Versace ones. She is playing the game hard. In Wales for an official visit she was wearing Welsh made jeans, a charity branded handbag from a British fashion house, a Stella McCartney coat and she looked great in it. She knew the press would notice that cynical effort to ingratiate wit us. Kate cannot compete with this woman. Meghan is Diana and some Kardashian thrown in and a proper celebrity. It will be interesting to see what the Cambridgeshire’s next stunt is.

Why should Kate have to do anything as wife of the future king and mother of three heirs? Her beauty and elegance speaks for itself and she probably likes the media spotlight turned on her future sister-in-law.

The Royals, by their very nature, have to stay relevant. Diana was 'selected' for the breeding line and Markle for PR and being modern reasons

I like Meghan. I loved her in Suits and am so sad that she will no longer be in it and if they will go on without her.

Like @DianneN, I love the bald look on men - well most of them at least , I have even written posts about my liking for the bald look . Among my favorites - Vin Diesel, The Rock , and the best of them all - Yul Brynner. I think Prince William should go completely bald.

You are a bit cynical - Meghan is trying to fit in, and she's no threat to William and Kate. There's room for them all.

To try to stay in the limelight is a bad idea for anyone, losing proposition. The best way is to be natural but then others should allow them to - siva
