The decline of Happiness

January 20, 2018 3:59pm CST
Have you been on social media lately and thought to yourself, What happened? No one seems to be happy anymore. I don't actually remember the last time anyone on social media seemed happy. I see proof of that on the news also. I also see people blaming others for it. Is it our fault? Is it the president's fault? Is it everyone else's fault? I believe it's all of the above. We stopped living and started depending on everyone else to make us happy and it just went down hill from there. There's so much anger and hate and un-happiness in the world now days it's sad. Will we ever be happy again? I believe we will. What do you think could change things and get people to be happy again? I believe happiness starts with helping each other to achieve our dreams. But that statement alone seems to be a dream in itself because we are filled with a world of "me me me" people. Will you step up and make a change? I believe it starts with us. We can't sit around and depend on someone else to start it. We need to step up and make a change now. Let's fix this broken world we are living in.

That's right!! We need to start rooting people on. But, we can't be happy all the time. But, when u r people just look at u like u r crazy. Looks like u have to be on guard all the time.

I agree but disagree, I believe happiness is a choice and helping others should make anyone happy. I love seeing other people achieve happiness, that's what makes me happy.

I believe we can choose how we want to be. I actually unfollowed many of my friends from Facebook, especially those who always share negative posts on their walls. I don't mean to unfriend them, but I don't like to have my wall filled with unhappiness and complaints. So, my Facebook wall is usually filled with joy, hope and beauty now. I like to share happiness on Facebook too. I agree with you. Whether or not we can influence the people around us, we can always start changing ourselves. I am glad I am living in a less complaining circle now.

I also had to remove the negativity from my life and from online. I used to be one of those people and I look back now and I think to myself, Now I know how others felt reading it all the time. It quickly starts to destroy you.
