But this modern generation I say they will never listen. See Preiti here she always sits like this. Never listens to me when I tell her it is not ladylike to sit cross legged

Articles say that sitting cross legged limits blood flow so people is is discouraged. Although, I do sit cross legged sometimes, I usually just do a deep squat instead.

I certainly understand mini skirts demand that legs are not crossed but while at school that question never arose and so I always wondered

@allknowing We did not wear mini skirts at school, we wore knee long skirts, but when a girl crosses her legs you see more than you think when you are in face of that girl.

@LadyDuck Modesty is just not about not crossing legs but there could be other situations where girls could be careless.

Never really thought about it. I was reminded of the bearded British comedian, Kenny Everett - and who is mentioned in this BBC article on the subject? Wow!

Thanks for the link. I think staying in position for long periods can affect one adversely and not necessarily only by crossing legs.

What in the world?!? I have never heard this before. I always thought it very lady like to cross your legs. I haven't done it since I was a teen as I don't want spider veins in my legs.
