Rock Painting Is Addicting

So is hiding them, and many times finding them and having the pleasure of trading them is Fun as well. This new Craze here that has hit my city of Tacoma you almost can't go anywhere, and not find someone who is painting and hiding rocks or people who have hid or found one somewhere. Everywhere you look anymore you might be lucky and find a rock someone has done. My husband and I personally love going and hiding them around some of the many parks when we get a chance. We have even occasionally, had the pleasure of finding some this way. My personal collection from rocks I have either found and want to keep, make and want to keep, or traded and want to keep is starting to become overwhelming. I need to go thru and decide what rocks need to be put back out there for others to find and enjoy if they want. Here is a rock I repurposed from one that the paint had come off of, and actually traded it the other night for a different rock I wanted. This was a Fun rock to do just because of the shape. Are you into the Rock craze of painting and hiding? Do you get together in groups to do this or are you just one person? If you paint, what are some of the things you like to paint? ~~TINA~~

I am not into it. Even if I loved painting, I wouldn't go around hiding them or looking for them. But glad so many are having fun doing so.

It is big here too! Hubby found one at a store and took it to work with him and left it. My grandkids have found a lot of them. I have never been lucky enough to find one. Stores and companies here were even doing them and when you took them back you got something. Waiting for Spring/Summer to do it with Tess and grandkids.

With Spring being here especially on the nicer days, there are a lot of people out andabout to where it is easier to find rocks. By the time school is out all that are hiddeen are usually found pretty quick as well.

@KrauseHome We are still waiting for Spring here, just had snow again and still some on the ground still. It is in the 20's and 30's still. I think Mother Nature needs some kind of pill. lol

That is very pretty Tina. During my teenage days, I also love collecting shells from the seashore whenever we went out to the beach.I and my friends would create wonderful things out of those shells. But as of now, I don't do it anymore. For the past 8 years, I realized I have been working so hard that I don't have any hobby anymore.

I don't paint, but do love to sketch still-life pictures. Rock painting is a new fad, I've heard of it before and this sounds fun.

I found one when I went out grocery shopping Saturday. I never keep the ones I find. If I keep them no one else gets to enjoy it. I take a photo of my find, add the photo to a private album I have on Facebook and add a photo to the rock group it came from then I rehide it somewhere new.

Okay, that reminds me of that similar rock I've seen here in our garden a couple of days ago. I just didn't thought of painting it yet.

I used to paint canvases - nothing brilliant though. I like this idea. I once found a rock, but didn't know about this. You maybe inspired me, I might give it a try

For me it is a Stress reliever and a Great way to be creative. There are so many things you can do with a Rock and many different paints, etc. I find the more I do it the better I get

It can be very relaxing, and the nice thing is it gives you a chance to be creative sometimes in ways you had no idea you could do.
