“Tupelo Honey” is one of Van Morrison’s finest albums if not his best. Morrison never became a superstar selling a billion albums but has been a highly admired and critically acclaimed singer-songwriter since the late 60s. Most probably know his song “Brown Eyed Girl” best. “Ooh, woo, wee Wild night is calling, alright Ooh, woo, wee Wild night is calling” “Wild Night” is not exactly one of Morrison’s literary masterpieces but an enthusiastic rocker for him charting at Billboard #28. Ronnie Montrose plays guitar on the track. The song has been covered by Martha Reeves, Johnny Rivers, Martina McBride and Amazing Rhythm Aces. In 1994, John Mellancamp and Meshell Ndegeocello had a #3 cover duet. Morrison was the first living Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee not to attend the ceremony.

Our son has backed him once on double bass so Vince and I are able to 'drop his name' in our conversations from time to time when the chance comes up - like now!

Brown Eyed Girl is my all time favorite. I loved that song in the Julie Roberts movie Sleeping With the Enemy. I have not heard this song but I do like it. Thanks for sharing.

A very good song indeed. I feel that way about "Wavelength" -- not the best-written song in Van the Man's life, but dang it's fun.

Into the Mystic is my favorite of his. I think it's so romantic, and his voice is perfect for it. I bet I now get "Wild Nights" in my head now, so there is my new earworm!

Isn't "Tangerine" by Van Morrison? I could be mistaken...
