Nowadays, when more and more news portals set up so-called clicks or recycles old news, it is difficult to determine exactly what is true. The impact of false news was highlighted in the last US presidential election, where allegedly intercepted and secret services were.
How would you rate what the news is true about? Are you checking this out on other portals? Which newspaper portals are you reading?

compare different media reports on the same stories, examine who owns, controls and sponsors the media source, look for what others say in comments and criticisms of the news source, take nothing at face value

It is no shock that the news only portrays one sided stories or false stories at times. Their underlying agenda is to get as many views as possible, just like other forms of entertainment.
With evergrowing technology, we know have access to so much more information and there are tons of other programs that will show what's going in in the world.

@mrki444 Sometimes I do. I usually just take whatever I hear with a grain of salt.
