we do not have a lake here but we do have the river walk here it is a big tourist atraction that and the Alamo. The river walk is not clean at all. It has restraunts all up down the walk and you can go on a boat ride down the river walk you can see a bunch of historic buildings down it. I would say to anybody if your in San Antonio check it out.

There is one wonderful lake in the outskirts of my city. It is known as THIPPAGONDANAHALLI LAKE. It has very good catchment area. For my city, drinking water is supplied from this lake. The Lake must be covering around 1000 acres of land.

Yes there is a like in the heart of our city. Water is not very clean. Since this is one of the biggest water bodies in the city, people do come from morning to evening. There is boating facility. It is known as Ulsoor Lake.

Folsom Lake here in California. It is where the locals go for boating. Very crowded during the holidays. It has some good clean, beautiful spots for picnics and outdoor activities.

Has anyone who is interested in future of people, thought about ground water resources, if the ponds are converted into colonies? I have a feeling youth should be told about this serous problem.

At the moment I am in Germany. There are many small lakes in almost all cities here and these are all clean and well managed.

Thank you very much for your response. In developed countries, the lakes are preserved and well maintained. In developing countries, they are turning it into tourist spots. Unfortunately due to lack of funds, the lakes in the underdeveloped countries are badly kept and it becomes breeding centres for musquitoes.
