'Drove to Standish Today'

This morning was my followup appointment, for Tawn to see how my blood pressure is doing. She said the bottom numbers(diastolic) are great, but the upper numbers(systolic) are still too high. It has been averaging right around 150/76. So today she doubled my dose of medication, to bring this number back down. Everything else I'm treated for seems to be doing pretty good. The drive to Standish wasn't bad at all. It was snowing a tiny bit, but the roads were clear of all snow or ice. I had a very nice morning!

@kobesbuddy I'm rough on the Dr.'s because I tell them when I walk in that I have a pulse and respiration Then I tell them I am still warm. They don't take my word for it! Glad things went well!.

LOL I worked in an assisted living home and it would panic me, when I couldn't find someone's pulse!

This reminded me of my mom when she was still alive. At 10, I learned how to take her blood pressure using the manual one that doctors usually use. She would be cranky when her blood pressure is up.

Yes, Mom was that way, too. When they brought her blood pressure down, she was sweet.

@kobesbuddy My mom found herself a hobby to rid herself of stress. Her stress was caused by running her own business. She was running it alone since my father had his own business to run and I know how stressful that was. Fortunately she found a hobby that she and I both enjoyed doing whenever I was home. We were away from home and our parents during school days as we go to school 65km away from home. So we lived in an apartment with just our housemaid while mom and dad stayed in our home because of their businesses.

@kobesbuddy I was wondering because my mom said she tried one and didn't think it worked good? It is cheaper so I was looking at them when she told me.

@nela13 Mine use to be low and I asked my doctor to make it higher. He said no, because it would naturally go up as I got older.
