Tide is one of the most popular laundry detergents in the world. Their products goes in Powder,Bars,Liquids and even paste. Now one of their new products is Tide Pods. These laundry tablets can do heavy laundry in the washing machine despite of their small size. If you notice the design of the pods, they look like peppermint candies. For some unknown reason fully grown adults became as curious as toddlers. People are so tempted to eat these candy looking detergents leading to poisoning. I don't know why but I can understand children ending up poisoning for eating this because they can mistake it for candy but adults poisoning because despite of knowing it is soap makes me baffle. Most victims said they ate it because it looks delicious. To make the matter worst, Tide pod eating challenge became trendy in social media and was considered the next cinnamon challenge. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pM6wanZOLtk

It started as a joke last year and then toddlers would get into them, after a while the meme started and teenagers and adults started to do it out of a joke. The more press coverage this gets, the worse it is going to get because people are idiots. Natural selection at its finest.

Seriously people kept doing it despite of all the warnings that they should not eat it. I even saw someone making the pods into pizza toppings. It is like the most dangerous joke people decided to take seriously.

Maybe they should re-design the pods so they look like liver & onions and brussel sprouts.

I like liver though,Lol Maybe making it look spiky and sharp will stop people from eating it.

I guess they must redesign tide pods into something gross looking so people will stop eating it.

When I know that something isn't edible, I don't eat it. It must be that someone must tell me that it can be eaten, although that one needs to be proven first before I eat it. How inconsiderate the manufacturers of Tide for making something like that, which can really be mistaken as candy by children, once they see it.

@SIMPLYD the pods can melt the organs like they melt stains. I am using them now my clothes and it really works well but it is kind of expensive.

The funny thing is most of the victims are teens and adults who wanted YouTube fame.

Obviously it's privileged people with no common sense eating Tide Pods. Poor people can't afford to buy Tide.

Yeah it is kind of pricy for a detergent. Powder is still more affordable. I haven't tried using the pods for cleaning.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I haven't either. We buy the "generic" brand detergent, because it's cheaper. And it never occurred to me, ever in my life, to eat laundry detergent!

@Srbageldog Tide is kind of cheap when I was still in the Philippines but its Powder and bar not pods. Rich and middle class uses powder and liquid while the poor uses bars. Bar users don't have washing machines, they hand wash. The brand poor people likes is surf.
