a practical surprise

Philippines

i had to get up and open the door for my niece because she forgot her key. as i turned around, eager to go back to sleep, i vaguely noticed her carrying something heavy. it turns out to be a pack of laundry detergent, a bottle of fabric softener, and a bottle of dishwashing liquid. all generic, no brands. she said she bought it from a co-worker. i think it came from the plant. great! i can cross off these 3 items from my grocery list. i like practical surprises. do you buy or use generic household products like these? do you give or receive household products?

That was a good surprise. I don't think we have generic laundry detergent here. They are all with brands.

@thelme55 no, i don't mean that. i know they don't. what i mean is in other countries, it seems that packaging of products are really big, unlike here where you can buy in small packs, small bottles, small box.

@hereandthere there are no people selling those from house to house. We buy our laundry detergent in the supermarket.

No. I can`t because my skin is sensitive and if not tested, I`m afraid to try. I had a hard time curing my skin problem

having sensitive skin is hard because it covers a lot of products from head to foot - shampoo, bath soap, lotion, makeup, detergent.

@hereandthere just yesterday I bought 3 original Dove soap for my mother because my friend's new business is consumer products and he is also my downline in some of the sites I taught him that is why I could not refuse.

@louievill oh, i wouldn't mind buying them since i use dove. my niece said it's ariel, joy and downy so i'm guessing it's from the p&g plant.

I often buy generic products unless I've had a bad result from a certain product in which case I'll choose something else.

It's good to have such surprise, though it woke you up in the middle of the sleep. As I usually go to the shopping mall and buy these groceries, so those are not generic ones. It would be nice if I know any of these sources, so it can help me to save some money.

I like to use my trusted "brands" for these particular cleaning items (but we use no fabric softener). I normally don't give or receive household products, but how I wish I did (much more practical than another box of cheap chocolates or silly knick knack as a gift )

for my clothes, i'm loyal to the low foam brand and don't always use fabric conditioner. i always have baking soda. but for other people here i buy other brands because that's their preference. yeah, i keep receiving stuff i don't like or don't use.

For now we are using fabric softener and dishwashing liquid that is not a popular brand. It was given to us free from a Natasha dealer. It looks low quality to me but it's not that bad. We usually buy cleaning products that are branded

I have used no -name bleach a few times. I prefer not to do it because it is best to know what is in the products we use.
