I'm awake right now?

With me it is always very unpredictable of when I will wake up, go to bed, take a nap, take like 3 naps in one day, not sleep for like 2 days, you have no idea what I am going to do.
Note: Do not tell me to take sleep medication, drink warm milk/ other warm drinks, or other sleep remedies, trust me. I've tried everything, nothing sticks.
As much as I like staying up at night because it is so quiet at night, it just isn't good for my health.
When I end up sleeping during the day, I only eat like 1 meal when it is still bright out which is dinner and then I eat late at night which is just so not good!
So I decided to go to bed early last night and I was surprised I was actually able to, but Cry was streaming and I can normally fall asleep during his streams because that man's voice lulls me to sleep because it is just beautiful <3
And then I woke up at 4am, so for sure a nap is going to happen, probably after eating breakfast, because I did go to bed at I think it was 1am, it is so hard for me to sleep at night, but I tried and I have been getting some work done and that is really my main goal of waking up so early. I want to get work done during the day so I can just focus on my drawing and writing after that.
when I wake up at 2pm, I just do not get enough work done because after like 5pm I don't want to do anything which isn't good if I want to work on mTurk or work on a drawing. So at least I can knock out my goal on mturk during the mornings. and then have the rest of the day if I nap or not to work on what I really want to work on.
It is never a consistent things, people who can wake up at the same time every day, go to bed at the same time are lucky, you are so lucky. Insomnia is a pain and there really isn't much I can do about it because my body just hates sleeping.

I slept like crap last night because of the coughing and being uncomfortable. But hopefully after today I will sleep better.

I had insomnia my entire life. I decided to start taking iron for the anemia I have always had as well and for whatever reason since taking it I sleep at night. 30+ years of insomnia I am so glad not to deal with it anymore. I find it I nap during the day I do not sleep at night. I am really sorry you have to deal with insomnia it’s awful.

Sounds rather hectic. I sleep on a schedule. It changes. Lately I have been staying up until 5a. when I wake my daughter up during the week. Then I go to sleep around 7a. or 8a.

I am also a chronic insomniac and have been since I was a kid. Now I live like a vampire: I go to bed when the sun comes up, and wake up when the sun is setting. It's probably not good for my health, but it's just how I am. I do wake up early some days when I have things to do, but I usually wind up with a migraine on those days.

@DesirousDreamer Whenever I try to sleep at night, I end up waking up every hour and wind up laying there awake forever...if I'm going to be awake all night anyway, I might as well be up doing something!

You are lucky. I could never keep up with a schedule, no matter how hard a try.

Ugh, that must be awful. I have the opposite problem. I'm ALWAYS tired and have trouble staying awake, even when doing things like driving (I don't drive lol). I really feel for you. I know you have heard everything before, but don't give up. I know there are things for calming your brain down, like journaling (brain dumping), meditation, something might help. Sleep medication is the worst. :( I guess I'm lucky. If I have trouble calming down my mind before bed, I just take a Benedryl and I"m OUT lmao. Hope you have a great day!

@DesirousDreamer Well that doesn't sound right. I am bipolar and when I am manic I can function on like 3-4 hours of sleep, but I feel fine. I don't think that is the issue. Maybe you should join a sleep study, especially if it is interfering with your quality of life. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. :(

@cpefley It actually is right, people who have depression will have insomnia. I'm bipolar and manic depressive, so I will have insomnia. I can function of 3-4 hours of sleep just fine if I am doing something. but I work at home, in my bedroom, so if I want to sleep the opportunity is always there.

I used to work 3rd. and I always liked it. Now that I have different jobs I have to make myself get in bed by midnight and I sleep till 8-9 am. BUT sometimes when I do a lot of hard labor I can sleep all night and all day.
