A possible wannabe vegetarian?

I've always said I could never go vegan because I love meat too much.
But for a while now, I can't seem to eat very much meat at a meal. In fact, I cooked pork chops for my husband for lunch, but I didn't eat one at all.
I cooked some fresh green beans in my Instant Pot pressure cooker and ate those with some potato salad and french bread. I didn't miss the meat at all.
I probably won't go total vegan, but I can see eating less meat all the time.
For my myLot vegetarians, (you know who you are!) can you give me some advice? How do you get enough protein? Please don't suggest tofu. I can't go there. At least, not yet anyway.
Thanks, guys. Maybe my body is telling me what I shouldn't be eating. I want to be healthy and I know too much red meat or too much of anything isn't.

Does eating too much red meat make you feel bad?

Well, I can tell you I will never give up on meat but being alone I really don't eat much anyway. Mostly chicken and if not that then some veggies. I am also into frozen pizza because it is what I can heat up with no problems.

I can understand when you're eating by yourself.

I am not a vegan or a vegetarian. I am a pescatarian which means I do eat fish but not meat or poultry. As for getting enough protein, there are always nut butters you can use on sprouted whole grain bread.

I don't think I'll ever give up meat entirely, but I want to cut back.

I am a vegetarian wanna be. I have tried it, I think it is better for you and morally I like it,,but I can not seem to go more than a month without craving meat like crazy. I don't think I will ever get all the way "there." Keep on trying though, maybe you will be!

I was a vegetarian for most of my teens and into my early 20s. I ate a lot of things like boca burgers which had beans in them.

@1creekgirl Yes, I liked them. I will still eat them occasionally. There are all types of veggie burgers, some are better than others. But I guess it would depend on personal preference whether you like one type or not.

That sounds like me. I'm pretty sure I'll never go completely vegan, but I think I'll be eating less meat.

I love dried beans. And now I can cook them much faster in my Instant Pot pressure cooker. The black eyed peas I cooked were the best I've ever had. Cooked fresh green beans today that were good.

@1creekgirl I love them too. I make my chili with dried beans, it always makes it taste better.
