To get rid of bad odor from cooking. Combine one cup of water with 1 Tbs of apple cider vinegar and boil it. Apple cider vinegar gets rid of bad odors. To clean food that sticks to pots and pans. Fill the pan with sudsy water and 2 Tbs. of apple cider vinegar. Soak for 30 minutes. The acids in the vinegar dissolves the burned food. Unclog your iron with apple cider vinegar . Fill the water tank with 1 cup of apple cider vinegar. Set the iron upright and turn on the steam setting for 5 minutes. Pour out any excess liquid, refill with water and repeat. The vinegar helps break down the deposits and your iron will work better. The picture is mine taken by me.

I wonder if it will for scales on steel vessels that have been used to boil water for ages. I would like to try that one out.

That is a great question! I have a few old pots that have a lot of scale buildup on them from boiling water so many times. It would be nice to get all that scale off.

I drink it first thing like this every morning - and I do feel it helps! My husband no longer has daily heartburns like he used to (but he has to keep up drinking it everyday).

Does regular vinegar work for those same tasks? I know on my coffee pot it says to use regular vinegar once a month to run through the brewing cycle to clean the inner workings of the coffee machine. Was wondering if regular vinegar works as good in other things as well, or if it should be apple cider vinegar?

I would think you should use what you were told. Why mess with what works for you.

@jstory07 Because apple cider vinegar is better tasting and better smelling than regular vinegar! That's why I was wondering if it could be used interchangeably. I would rather use something that smelled better.

Apple Cider Vinegar is great for many things. As is white vinegar for cleaning coffee machines and such.
