Do you watch the Food Network?

I watch the Food Network a lot on the weekends when my regular weekday shows are not on. I like the Pioneer Woman, Valerie Bertinellli's show Ina Garten's show and some of the various bake off and cook off shows they have. Oh yes, I also watch "The Kitchen" that is a good show that has lots of cooking hints, tips and tricks along with some craft ideas. IF you watch the Food Network, which show is your favorite?

I used to watch it religiously but I got so sick of the fake "reality" shows and the shows with people who have no real cooking credentials. Ayesha Curry? (or whatever her name is) They had some singer who wanted to run a cake store. I think The Kitchen is obnoxious. I do have to say that Valerie Bertinelli's show is cute. I wanted to hate it but I couldn't. Overall, though, Food Network is terrible these days. They got rid of all of the actual chefs (Alex Guarnaschelli, Anne Burrell, Mario Batali, Emeril Lagasse, Claire Robinson, etc.) in favor of home cooks (Ree Drummond, Trisha Yearwood, etc.) There is nothing that I can learn from them. Plus all of the travel and competition shows--too many of them! So I just don't watch any longer.

@Marty1 Yeah, I am not sure I watched it that much back in the day. I don't think Emeril has been on for awhile.

We watch very little TV so don't watch cooking shows. I know some have some really good ideas for meals.

They do, but alot of those Food Network recipes are things that take a gazillion ingredients. A. You wouldn't be able to find the stuff around here and B. I don't like spending an hour or more in the kitchen!

@snowy22315 I have a '4 ingredient' cookbook which is my kind of recipe book. Luckily Vince does most of the cooking but anything too involved drives me crazy.

Back when I had cable I used to watch Food Network. I guess, it helped me bring out the foodie in me.

Yes, they are good shows. i even like some of the crafts they do on the Kitchen. Although last week they made a vase out of a cheese shaker and yarn. I was thinking unless you have yarn around that would cost big bucks. Yarn is not cheap anymore.

We love watching Chopped, Iron Chef, Beat Bobby Flay and the Baking Championships (kids and adults). We catch the other shows too if we aren't watching something else. I miss some of the older shows, Paula Deen, Wolfgang Puck and Emeril.

Yes, they have all moved on..Geoffrey Zakarain is a real chef though, as is Flay. They seem to have their faves on there.
