Crossed contrails or something else?

I emerged from a nearby neighborhood grocery and was awed by this vivid, unusual cloud formation. Except for this cross, there's not a single cloud in the clear blue sky. Awed, I took some shots and posted on facebook. Immediately, friends started commenting and posting their own shots. Comments range from ordinary contrails to Biblical prophecies of revelation signs in the heavens. I am leaning towards the latter, after two major earthquakes and our own perfect cone erupting for many days now. Sigh.

The image was attention catching. It was vivid against the pale blue skies. Here's a shot from an fb friend,

I pray you are right. Just the same, when I saw the crossed clouds, I was glad I added a few canned goods in my purchase. The girl scout in me has to be prepared. Not that I am waiting for doomsday to happen, but I dwell in a fault area. I donnawanna be caught unprepared.

@eileenleyva Or it could be some trail from a plane when they go faster or something. Why one earth you're waiting for a doomsday? we all know that no one knows when we or the world s going to end. But some christians out there make fake predictions to promote their religion. Well, that's why we pray right? we say thanks, and then we ask forgiveness everyday.

@Letranknight2015 Oh my, is that the reason why youtube is full of doomsday prophecies? For the propagation of sects or cults? Sigh. Thanks for telling. Naive moment. Ha ha Reality check: the earth right where we reside has a major fault underneath that is due to move any time. I don't want to be a victim or casualty. I'd like to be the one to render help to the unfortunate.

That's interesting. How does it formed? Maybe by jet planes

Aubrey, please check Felicia Kane's response. I learned that scientific information from her. Ha ha.

Wow. I'm curious what's beyond that clouds. I hope that's a positive sign for everyone.

It is a positive sign, a reminder for us that all things will come to pass, so do not ever despair.

@cttolledo True. And somehow, it makes us meditate on our next course of action.

They look like jet trails to me. Contrails is a new word for me.

@JudyEv Don't worry, I think every body else know very little, too. Felicia Kane down there just taught me how the contrails come about. So, the next time I impress my self upon young boys who I encourage to take aeronautics, I will quote her and pretend how learned I am in such matters. Ha ha I hope it works.

Contrails - a trail of condensed water from an aircraft or rocket at high altitude, seen as a white streak against the sky. Same as jet trails. I also learned just today that fondant and fondue are two different things. Ha ha We learn something every day.

@eileenleyva I have learnt so much here but it's a bit scary when I think about how much I probably still have to learn.

We get those kinds of clouds as well, but they are from jet planes. I live near an air force base and those clouds look exactly the same.

The contrails are fascinating. I watch the sky lines long after the jets have sped up somewhere and are no longer visible to the eye,. But the contrails remain. Wow.

@DesirousDreamer Wow, that is very welcome FYI. Ha ha So that is why the lines stay on the skies for my amusement. Thank you for telling. Now I will have more to say to young boys I encourage to become aviators or astronauts. I must memorize that line.

@eileenleyva They last for a while because all oxygen is in a fluid and you are mixing fuel fluid and it is heavier than oxygen so it stays.
