Today and this past weekend is/was the RSPB (that’s the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) Big Garden Birdwatch.
The idea is that anyone watches the birds in their local garden, park, workplace or whatever for an hour and records the largest number of any species they see at one time (this avoids counting the same bird several times), and the results are collated to give a current snapshot of the wild bird population of those species that frequent gardens and similar areas.
So far I have seen one robin, three blackbirds and one woodpecker.
There are plenty of birds out there, I can hear them, but I can’t see them.
Our garden goes all the way around the house, so I’ve gone from one window to another to look, and strolled around in the garden, but it’s remarkable how few birds I can see even though I know they are there!
Anyone else doing this? Have you had better luck than me?

At my home in Connecticut, I have many birds that I can hear but often not see, here in Florida I see and hear almost none.

I didn't do this. But we do have two blackbirds who regularly visit our back garden.
