Hello friends, There is lots of difference in a village and a town and this difference was huge around 35 years. I remember I used to go to live in village for whole summer vacations where my grand mother used to live. There were few things due to which I used to like village even in summer when there was limited access to electricity. One of them was the bullocks cart in which we used to travel even if we had to travel for 10 kms or more. Another one was tube wells as we used to play with the high flow of water. But when we grew up we used to hate going to the village? Those are the memories now. What are your childhood memories?.

Bullock carts sound fun, I've only travelled in horse drawn ones. I've not heard of tube wells.

@sjvg1976 No, I've not seen them but I can imagine what fun children could have playing in them.

Thats so nice that you have those memories of the carts. I know what you mean. Once when we went to homeland, we rode in horse and cart. It must have been great fun running and splashing in the tube wells.

They change as the village progresses. I remember one time when it was all soil, farm, trees and animals. But the dogs were just roaming free. But I got back many years later and it's all like our neighborhood here.

Many things were fun when we were kids but were probably a nuisance to adults. I haven't ridden in a bullock-drawn cart; only horse-drawn ones. I drove horse-drawn carts until a few years ago but that was for pleasure.

I liked to go to spend some weeks in the village where my grandmother lived. We liked to go near the river to play. Life was simple and easy.
