Been in a mess of pain lately at times. So got lazy and not posting much.
Started watching Mad men series on my Netflix. never thought I would like it but finally figured out that Elisabeth Moss was in it so had to see what it was about. It's like stepping back in time for me. I was a teen in the early '60's Now I am addicted. Younger people will be shocked at so much smoking went on. Almost everyone smoked. even doctors right there while they checked you etc. Constant in the offices of business and everything. Then people today wonder why we got so addicted. but everything in it is just like I remember things. anyone else watch this?
photo is of my little stuffed kitty daughter bought me for some reason. I have to say its like having a tiny pillow. thinking about getting more. I am such a child.

I've seen some episodes and it's true, it was just like that. My sister lives in Holiday and I'm just up 19 from you.

cool. i would meet you but having a bad time now. can;t get up much and my daughter rest when she isn;t waiting on me. actually, i am down farther in Port richey now just haven't changed it. lol wish i could see you but house is a mess. my daughter is cleaning it right now in fact.

@bunnybon7 I hope you will be feeling better soon. After being gone for so long my yard is a mess. I was raking and picking up all kinds of hurricane trash. Half my fence is down. What a mess!

@Jeanniemaries yes i was in it. you was lucky not to have to hear and see it. got pretty darn scary. i was on oxygen tanks and almost ran out before the power came back. guess it wasn't my time yet but i think soon.

@shaggin yes. when i was 14 yrs, in my home town a 3 boys ages 10 yrs were walking over a train track bridge from Ohio into Ky. because there was no age limit over there to buy cigs. and a train came before they could get across to safety. killed 2 of them. 
every kid wanted to be grown up like their parents and they thought smoking made them more grown. you know how that is

yes when she first gave me it, i started to say oh good something to give to the next little one comes around and she said "don't even think about it!" with her stern look. lol

A lot still smoke and I saw a young girl in a house here go to the door of the house and was smoking away and I was thinking if only you knew what problems you might get if you don´t stop now.
Of course I did not tell her that and if I was her Mom I would be telling her for her own sake way too young.

Have not seen that series or got a view of the other one about Spain yet.
Watching Ivanhoe right now Robert Taylor he is still lovely for me anyways.

I heard Mad Men was pretty good - but I have yet to watch it! I remember my parent in laws said smoking was just something everyone did back then - no one thought about the health risks and such. Oh, is the kitty one of those squishy ones? They are as pillowy as a pillow can get

I don't know what you are watching but I do remember when everyone was smoking and it was quite the trend. During war times life expectancy was short and even doctors were philosophical about smoking. A bullet would kill you faster than a smoke. Thankfully my father never smoke and we did not grow up with the example of smoking. Hope you recover quickly.

I have never watched Mad Men but yes I started smoking when I stayed a month in the hospital while carrying my fourth baby they came around and sold them to our rooms lol bad form that.

not surprised. i smoked in and out of the hospitals back then. carrying babies etc. to bad theres no one to sue or blame for that whole terrible trend.

it is on netflix now 7 seasons of it and i guess it has been on AMC from what i see. originally. i always start at the beginning and binge watch such things so i will know what is going on . lol. only on season 3 now.
