It's that time of the year when it's time for the Primaries (March 6). In my county of Freestone, Texas we have 10 running for office and these folks have some interesting names. State Representative: Thomas McNutt. Hopefully he isn't one (nut). State Representative: Wesley Ratcliff. Maybe as a (rat), he'll snitch on people or jump off a (cliff). Justice of the Peace: Pamela Whitt. Hopefully she has some (wit). Justice of the Peace: Shirley Mays. (may) she win the title. Justice of the Peace: Cinnamon Archibald. Hopefully she won't go (bald) fighting for the title. Justice of the Peace: Theresa Farris. Hopefully she will be (fair) after the battle. District Clerk: Teresa Black. Never let it be said our city is racist (black). County Treasurer: Jeannie Keeney. Hopefully she doesn't steal anybody's weenie. County Treasurer: Tammy Harris. Hope she has any left (hair) after the match-up. And finally County Judge: Linda Grant. May she (grant) all of those listed above a trial if they misbehave. And never let it be said that Freestone County is gender bias....well maybe in reverse. See? Politics aren't always boring.

@nanette64 Yeah, I like that one best too! I can only imagine the teasing he received as a kid. I have a lifeguard at work whose last name is Fleury, and everyone calls him McFlurry after the ice cream at McDonalds. At first he hated it, but he now loves being called by that nickname. Granted, it's not a bad nickname, but still. With my last name of Moffitt, I was always called Little Miss Muffett as a kid, or Muppet Man. And in high school, a favorite thing for my friends to say was "Get off it, Moffitt!" I guess there are worst things people can be called! lol

I think my favorite one is McNutt @moffittjc . You know as a kid growing up what he had to hear.

Over in Taylor County, TX, many years ago there was a politician named Cyrus Pea, people joked about seeing through the window.

@nanette64 He had a daughter that went to school with my sisters. Can you imagine what that poor girl went through?

There are certainly some interesting names there. I imagine that Jeannie Keeney likes the joke of calling herself Jeannie when presumably she could just have been Jean?
