Don't you get sick eating pumpkin seeds?

Kürbiskerne is pumpkin seeds in German language. The other day I bought pumpkin (squash) seeds in the supermarket. I love eating pumpkin seeds but I seldom eat it as it is not often in the shop. Last night, a few hours before I went to bed, I have eaten around 3 tablespoons of those seeds while watching the tv show. When I was about to go to bed, I suddenly had a stomachache. I run to the toilet and puked 3 times. Horrible. I felt so cold and sick. Gladfully, I had White Flower oil, a Filipino medicinal oil with eucalyptus and other herbs in it. I rubbed my tummy with the oil and went to bed. I felt better and was able to sleep. Do you feel sick after eating pumpkin seeds? What medicinal oil do you rub on your tummy when you have stomachache? I hope you are all feeling well. Have a wonderful month February.

Oh no - hope you feel better now! We buy them raw in bulk . . . we will eat them sometimes but during the day - I don't think we've gotten sick from them. We usually don't rub anything on our tummies when we have a stomach ache . . . we just let nature run it's course on that one.

@thelme55 If it's something you've done since childhood, then it's something you know you can rely on. My parents just always said to go to the bathroom and do our thing - do not hold it in .

I have never eaten pumpkin seeds although my niece and I were talking the other day. Apparently it is a great source of zinc. I wondered how to prepare this to be eaten?

I do not eat pumpkin seeds, I do not like the taste. I use no oils, if I feel sick I drink warm water with lemon juice.

Yes, I get sick after eating pumpkin seeds in the hulls. They bother my stomach, but I have never thrown up from them. I don't eat pumpkin seeds, unless their hulls are removed.

Pumpkin seeds are good blended with other nuts or in trail mix. For a minute I got a little mixed up and was thinking about sunflower seeds. That's somethin' that they made your stomach act up. Don't think I'd better mess with them because my stomach's kind of funny too. Also, it's very interesting that you use medical oils. But for upset stomach I usually have coke!

I love pumpkin seeds. Are you sure its the pumpkin seeds that made your stomach in trouble? Or maybe the food you took before eating the pumpkin seeds?
