A Bundle of Nerves

The Ice Princess, our precious 9 year old granddaughter, arrived in Lake Placid, New York, yesterday with her family and other grammy. Lake Placid hosted the 1980 Winter Olympics.
Today she will spend a lot of time on Lake Placid's Olympic sized ice skating rink practicing her new routine and warming up for the big event, which will occur tomorrow, Saturday.
This will be her 4th time competing, by invitation only, at Lake Placid. It's a very important event for figure skating. Her prior skates there helped her to make Regionals and represent the state of New York in Michigan.
I am a nervous wreck for her! She, however, can't wait to get onto the ice.

@LadyDuck The waiting kills me! lol. I don't even know what time her skate is!!!! I truly would, but my son tells us to save our money. We'd hardly get to see her, early dinners for the kids, and early to bed. I will see her in other competitions. She loves a crowd of family and friends watching her.

I'm so nervous. It gets worse for me every year. My family will send me their own photos and videos, but we will have to wait until the professional video is available. My son also texts me the results from the judges with a photo and his own personal commentary. It's not televised, so I can only sit and wait by my phone, etc.

How exciting! Hope she has a great practice today . . . tomorrow is a big day and I can't wait to hear all about it! She is a cutie and beams of confidence - she works hard and I just know she will go out there and give it her best shot. I'm throwing virtual roses onto the ice to her

Lol! Thank you! I'm a bit worried due to the time she missed with her broken heel. I don't doubt that she will give it her best shot, but you know how it is out there. I'm getting a mani/pedi later just so I won't bite all 20 nails!!!! Here she is with her mom on Mirror Lake yesterday. Brrrr!

I had some amazing news late this afternoon. She skated in the preliminaries late this afternoon and took second place, which is pretty amazing! Now, she doesn't need to skate tomorrow. I explained it in a new post. I feel so free and happy! I've been an emotional wreck, but no more until the next time! XOXOX

She's very confident because she knows by heart what to do! I'm glad your granddaughter isn't nervous, her show will turn out perfect I can't wait to hear how wonderful her performance is!
