I have told some of you about me being sick since before Christmas and here it is February already. I first noticed not feeling well just before our Christmas trip to New Jersey. I remember the week before we left that I was tired but only thought because of the holidays. We drove to New Jersey to surprise the kids and grandson and on the trip I was getting very tired and we ended up stopping in North Carolina sooner than we normally do. We always stop at a hotel half way up to get some sleep.
By the time we got to New Jersey I was really very tired but I didn't want to find a doctor as I thought it was just the excitement of the trip. We stayed in N.J. for over 3 weeks and I was really feeling bad. By the time we got home I slept a lot but thought it was because of the traveling and excitement but here it is February and yesterday I felt so bad and figured I better stop fooling around, as I remember my mom always saying to me, You aren't getting any younger Dear..
When I got to the doctors there were 15 people in the waiting room, most of them I could see felt like I did. As it turns out I do have the flu and now I am paying the price for procrastinating. I have a few prescriptions and need lots of rest and fluids. My head is still congested and the ear ringing is driving me crazy.
The flu is very bad this year and even the doctors in the group I go to had it already to. They had to cover for each other.
Word of advice, if you start feeling sick go to the doctors soon as putting it off can only make things worse and very drawn out. I basically lost almost 2 months as I never had any energy to do anything. My husband ended up with it too.

@LadyDuck That is what I kept doing to and for a few days I did feel better but I couldn't shake this and over here they are warning everyone to get to the doctors to get the meds to help faster.
The flu is getting worse and worse this year.

I have not been out much at all in fact since we got home in the middle of January, I have only been out 2 times. Once to a store because I thought I was better and the next time was two weeks later and that was to the doctors. I should have gone there sooner.

I will take your advice thank you, think it's just a matter of time before that strain of flu virus travels round the world.

@ramapo17 that's why I take a dose of vitamin C from time to time besides eating fruits to boost my immune system, weather seems to act funny these days.

Good and sane advice blondie...but not surprising because of the color of your hair. You are not the only blonde who suffered it. Take heart in that. There are reports on myLot that other blondes too had flu this year and one thing was common, you know what. Evil Grin. Kidding. Sorry that you and your husband have been unwell. Hope you recover soon. Love..hugs..tc

I know, I cannot believe it has been going on so long. Every night I would tell my husband I was going to the doctors the next day and when I got up I felt better. That didn't last long. I have been getting a lot of rest and so drinking so much juices and tea.

I have that habit of not going to the doctors when I'm sick. I usually wait for things to get worse before doing so. Fortunately I haven't been to the doctors for about 4 years.

I've been feeling pretty fatigued lately, and I have had that "blah" feeling. No aching head, no fever, no coughing or sore throat or anything like that, just that tired feeling like you described. Maybe I should make an appointment to see my doctor. Everybody else around me is dropping like flies with the flu.

You can get it from the people you work with and just by being near someone that has it. My doctor told me she was out of work for a week and so was the other doctor at a different time. They say it is the worst it has been in years.

Get well soon. Different family members have been laid low...I had a bug (gift from the grandkids) in the autumn. It took me a month to shake it off. I'm not wanting a repeat.
