I’ve got the leg done!

I’ve got the leg done! I’m slowly getting there with the first sock, but I have been doing other things. In my last post I had knitted the cuff and now I’ve knitted the leg part before going onto the heel. I would like maybe to get the heel done today but I’ll see on that. I’m following a Basic sock pattern which can be downloaded for free form Ravelry. I’m using “Magic loop” Technique to knit the socks on 2.75mm. The photo is showing the cuff and the leg part of the sock.

Looking good. I'm going to have to do my Resfeber sock update. For the second sock, I have switched colors. I'll do that tomorrow after I get home from knit group that I go to on Tuesday afternoon.

@kevin1877uk The sock that I ever knitted, I followed the pattern closely and was somehow still off by a quarter way around the sock. After that, I took a sock knitting class and had better luck after. My favorite heel is the afterthought heel but I'm going to have to try a few different other ones.

@bluerubymoon53 I'm not sure of what heel I'm doing, just following a pattern from Ravelry.

Thanks, I did the heel part than did the shaping the wrong way round, so now I've undone it and will have another go maybe to morning in better light if it better than today, it was dark for much of the day with rain.

kevin, it sounds very complicated. Will you look at my post on my knitting and tell me what you think of it so far?

I have bought this circular needle and finally I have never tried to use it. I am sure it's a lot easier than the old technique.

I don't really mind, I didn't have small enough double pointed needles to use, but have a number of long circular needles.

@kevin1877uk I like to crochet more than knitting, but in winter knitting is a relaxing activity.

I've done socks on a round needle. It was a bit of a challenge, but they did turn out quite nicely.

The only one other sock I knitted before was done on DPN's so this one will be the first one using a round although I've knitted many things before using a round needle.

I've only ever seen socks being knitted with five needles. This elastic long one seems a good idea. Less fumbling and no danger of losing a needle.

Thank you, yeah you can knit in double pointed needles or a long circular needle and use as Magic Loop.

Your sock is looking good. I'm sure you knit nice and evenly having done so much of it.
