You might be more Viking and / or Anglo Saxon than you think.

Came across reference to this article on facebook and am perusing said article now. It appears new scientific (last month) evidence has been analyzed and the Northern Irish (or those who can claim ancestral ties) could have more viking blood in them than previously thought.
I am still reading through the article but I found it interesting enough to note here.
Researchers at Trinity College Dublin have constructed a DNA map revealing the lasting genetic contributions from British, Scandinavian and French invasions.

I am certainly glad I didn't live in those days. Though I suppose, if I had, I would want to be the Viking and not the poor villagers!

I think I lack Viking blood. Sadly. Or maybe goodly. At least I can say my ancestors weren't pillaging meanies!!

Native American?
Since I've been earning online, Indian has come to mean "people from India" for me.. so just making sure.

I meant Native American Indian sorry. I forget there is difference and honestly didn't know it until about 2 years ago when my dad mentioned it and was so surprised about not knowing that he told my mother later on.

Although red (ginger) hair is associated with the Irish, I believe it most likely comes from the Vikings. Then again, perhaps not.

I believe I've heard the theory that it could have come from the Vikings. However, if the Irish have Viking DNA, it's pretty much one in the same.

My ancestors, on atleast one, but perhaps two sides, were Northern Irish as well.
