Why so many crashes? On Sunday there was another deadly Amtrak train collision in South Carolina leaving 100 injured and 2 dead. It collided with a parked freight train early this morning. This Amtrak crash makes it the third one in a couple months. On Dec 18th a derailment in Washington injured dozens and killed 3 people. Last week an Amtrak train with Republican congressmen hit a vehicle killing one and injuring two people in the vehicle. I am now rethinking my life long love for trains. Even though the death toll isn't that high, a train crash is the scariest thing I can imagine. I rode trains a lot when I was little and only once as an adult. I have great childhood memories of the train. Have you ever rode on a train?

I love riding trains. However, it is strange that so many train accidents and derailments are taking place all over the world.

I have only ridden on a train once and it was so much fun, I just told my husband the other day that we should look into a train ride some where but now I am starting to rethink that.

I rode trains regularly as a child and have wonderful memories. Always wanted to take a vacation using the train - maybe one day.

I have ridden on a train a few times. I was thinking it would be nice to travel that way if I ever went anywhere in the future. Now I am wondering if that would be wise.

Yes I've been on lots of trains when I was a child - they were steam trains then and very exciting. I rarely go on a train nowadays.

They are just not the same today. I guess they are faster and more comfortable today but I .oved the old fashioned ones

Thankfully I was never a part of the train crash or derailment. Must be a very scary thing to experience.

I wonder if speed has anything to do with it. I would never feel comfortable traveling in high speed trains.

I think speed might have something to do with it. I prefer the slower train rides on level ground.
