How you know when you have found ‘The One’

My friend is getting married soon. Chatting to other friends recently she was talking about how she met her fiancé and she said that the first thing she told him about herself was that she does Morris dancing (traditional English folk dancing that some people regard as distinctly odd!) The second thing was that she has MS (multiple sclerosis – a lifelong medical condition). The third thing was that her brother is a transvestite. When he still stuck around after those revelations she decided that he must be worth hanging on to. All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2018.

I've often heard it said that you know you've found the 'right one' when you still think they're the right one despite what you know about them rather than because of what you know about them!

Yes, perhaps instead of trying to present ourselves at our best, we should show our worst!

@WorDazza It would certainly be a new angle, maybe we should start a new dating site!

@Fleura Obviously that would be a far more honest approach. Maybe too honest for some!!!

@Fleura The only real problem could be MS, but there are so many wonderful new medications now, that she can lead a longer and better life. Have fun at the wedding!!!

He has a good sense of humour and doesn't seem phased by much, that's a winning combination I think!

Some people might be put off by weird friends, weird relatives or limitations to activities and possibly life.

What surprises me is that someone with MS can do Morris dancing. I've watched videos and know that this is quite an exhausting hobby.

You're right, it is quite energetic. She is doing well to keep it up, and sometimes it does all get too much and she has to have a rest. MS has different forms and she is relatively lucky in that she doesn't have the rapidly-progressing type.
