What is your skill level with chopsticks?

I imagine that many of the Asian mylotters will answer that they are experts! I like to use chopsticks when I am eating Chinese foods. I would describe my skill level as fair. I find it far more efficient to use a fork. I think using chopsticks increases your dexterity though so that is why I like to use them, besides it is fun! Are you good with chopsticks?

Believe it or not, I prefer knives, forks and spoons to chopsticks. My Grandparents when living could pick up a grain of cooked rice with chopsticks. Not me though, I get frustrated and hunger pangs warrant a quick exit for my fork and knives with a need for spoons too. I'm Japanese, so it's not the nationality, it's the ease of eating for utensil use.

On a scale of 0 to 10 I would score a minus1000 for using a chopstick. I can barely hold them with one hand, leave alone at least manage to grab a sliver of noodles or rice.

@snowy22315 me too. I'd probably eat the chopsticks themselves to try and stay alive.

In a scale of 1 to 5, I would say 2.5-3, there's something in those wooden chopsticks that gives out the flavor of food instead of the metal taste of spoons and forks ( just my opinion)

I am pretty good in using chopsticks, the only difficulty comes when I have to eat fried rice.

I like the rice to be a bit sticky so it is easy to pick up with the chopsticks.

Another reason I like chopsticks is that they slow down my eating..so that is a reason to use them right there.

@snowy22315 I always chew as slowly as possible - except if I forget. It means I never have time to go back for seconds.

@snowy22315 Why surprised at all? The traditional way of eating here is using spoon and fork, not chopsticks. We got the chance to use chopsticks if we're eating in Chinese restaurants or any other Asian food that needs to use chopsticks.
