I am Diabetic, and Love and usually will carry some form of chocolate all the time around here. Not the Sugar Free kind either, as they are not Good for you. I mean real chocolate as in usually the miniatures. I am insulin Diabetic and brittle due to other issues concerning my Health, etc so I do try to limit the special things that a regular person likes. I do occasionally have a Starbucks but that is few and far between. On and off since Saturday I have been wanting a Milkshake, so tonight on my husbands way home from work, he is going to stop at Jack In The Box and get me and Oreo Milkshake. I am sure it will be worth the splurge. So is there anything special you like to have that may not always be the Best for you, but so worth it anytime you splurge to get it? ~~TINA~~

Dark chocolate is my passion, I have no health issues, I do not feel too much guilty having a piece time by time.

Chocolate is one of my Loves. I always seem to have to keep some chocolate around for the times when I really need some. Not a fan really of Dark chocolate though.

I do crafts and I always say that my cards etc come out better and sweeter if I have just a bit of sweet while I am doing it. So I usually have a bit of chocolate on hand to make things "sweet"! I don't have diabetes but high blood pressure which is raised a bit by chocolate. I try not to over do it though. Hope you enjoyed your shake!

Shakes are always good. The one from Denny's are not as good as some of the ones elsewhere. It is a nice treat from time to time.

Ohh the one in the photo looks so yummy. I got an Oreo milkshake at Sonic and it was good but didn’t have any crumbled cookies on top of the whip cream like I expected.

That's a cheat time. I remember my colleague who drank a bottle of soft drink during her pregnancy because she missed it's taste. Be careful with your health.

I am also diabetic and my doctor advised me to be on lighter diet, but with the amount of physical work I put in as a Vet I found many a times that my blood glucose level is getting lower than what it should have been , so I eat moderately and once in a blue moon good amount of non veg too which I am suppose to eat once in a week in small quantities! Thanks!

Please savor every sip. You deserve a treat. For me, I would like to go out and eat Italian food without cutting out on all the cheese and cream and I would love to have that lovely Tiramisu. I have intolerance to dairy but love Italian food so much. There's just nothing in this world that can substitute the taste of real cheese and cream and milk.

Diabetics can splurge in sweet treats in times of hypoglycemia. It's good for you to carry anything in your pocket ,so can can have a supply of sugar whenever your blood sugar level is low.Don't make it as a habit, just treat it as a cheat.

So glad your hubby got you one! I love vanilla, and chocolate shakes! Hmm, only thing I can think of is Pizza Hut, which is because its 1-1.5 hours away so don't always get it but down it when I do.

i cant think of a splurge for myself. theres nothing wrong with treating yourself with a splurge, as long as you know your limits.

Hi Tina, yes! It is so worth it. It was proven that an occasional reward actually helps your diet. You can make it like a routine and it will work even better because impulse buying may work in reverse. When you know you will get a treat at a specific time, you have something to look forward to and try harder on your diet to achieve it. You also do not have to crave for that thing because you know you are going to be able to get it. Anyway, I just bought an Oreo pack yesterday. Impulse purchase though (:P) but I won't do that again anytime soon. I still feel so good about it because I lost 10kg already. So... splurge away!
