A Must Share "Word of the Day"

lenity
Austin, Texas

I am always trying to improve my vocabulary. I don't often feel so moved that I just have to share a new word that I learned. But this is such a beautiful word of the day, how can I keep it to myself?? The word of the day is LENITY. Found on Instagram. Have a beautiful day everybody! * * * P.S. I found the fairy pic on Pixabay. What can I say? I like flowers plus elves, fairies, and other fantasy creatures. I think they represent gentleness. I thought the word suited the artwork.

I've never heard of lenity. 'Leniency' is a bit similar but not the same. We could do with more lenity in the world - and it comes up with red underlining as though it's not a word - or spelt wrongly.

This is a good way to improve my vocabulary. As English is my secondary language, I need an improvement in this field. Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome. Do you speak Tagalog? I had a friend from the Philippines and she said that was her native language.

Wow, you really go out there with your words. I have never heard of any of these words before. How do you choose what words you want to learn and share?

I did sign up to receive a Word of a Day. But this finding was an accident. I just recently opened my Instagram and someone shared a word. I found the related Instagram and found this word. I got lucky!

There's a Merriam Webster dictionary app you can download for you to practice your vocabulary. There are also games to challenge you. It's a great app.
