I found a UFO in my freezer. An unidentified frozen object. I have no clue what this is. It is something white in a package. It looks like possibly mashed potatoes or maybe corn frozen in some sort of sauce. How it got there and what it is is a bit of a mystery..I am curious..I guess I might thaw it and see. Have you ever found a UFO in your freezer? Most UFO's I throw away..but this one..I just want to know what it is..

Some UFO's were so badly riddled with freezer burn that you couldn't tell if it was beef or chicken. They were quickly disposed of.

@snowy22315 I have tossed a lot out. My son gave my husband a food sealing unit for Christmas. I am going to put it to good use.

@ElusiveButterfly Yes, I want one of those too, or a food dehydrator would be good too. I think I food sealer would be better though.

Yes it has happened a few times. As liquids freeze some look very different or very similar. I write on the packages now so I don't forget.

Most of my UFOs are wrapped in foil and get tossed at some point.

When you can no longer identify what it is it is a good time to toss it. I found a piece of steak frozen in 2012. umm well maybe it is Ok, but out it went!!

@snowy22315 I guess mashed potatoes never last long enough in this house to need to be freezed. If I had a food saver it would be different.

Sometimes I find one but I throw it out immediately. I am not eating something that I can't recognized!

Hopefully you'll recognise it once it's frozen. My freezer isn't massive so mostly I know what's in there.
