Who are your true friends? are they those you know better?

It's always very hard to discern between who are your real friends and who are not Even if we go the conventional way and say, true friends are those who stay by you whatever the situation, you will assuredly confirm that only those friends you clearly identify will be beside you during that tragedy you find yourself in. So how can you know your real friends? Real friends are those whom you can remember by their three names. If in the three names you can't remember his/ her father's name, you should be capable of remembering that other name, the one you always joked about. So if you want to know your real friends, pick a pen and a paper, and jot down those friends you can clearly remember by their 3 full names. Don't confirm anywhere, either from your phone contacts or your WhatsApp. If you jot 20 names down I will say you're blessed. Goodnight!

I have sadly had a lot of friends who I thought were real friends, but sure enough I was always there for their problems...they were never there for when we would be going through rough patches!
There is something I was reading about for friends and relationships with others that likened friendships to trees.
I think it is Tyler Perry?
But some people are like leaves - where they blow away when things get rough
Others are like branches - sorta out of reach, but still there in and out of your life {though they can go all sorts of directions!}
And then you have the root people - people who are there through everything good and crazy, people who lift you up.
I really liked that analogy! If you do a search online you'll probably find a better explanation of it than I just tried, but ideally the root people in our life are what we should put our attention on!

A true friend is a one who shares happy and sorrow of you and stands with you all the time.
