My neighbor is a mother of two boys. The first son is disabled from the waist down so he uses a wheelchair. The other, the junior, is still about 6 years. They wake me up from sleep every morning at about five am. She works hard. She wakes up at around 4:30m am. She cooks, washes, bathes the disabled son and takes them to school before 7 am. The disabled boy is growing every day. In the future, it will become difficult for her to carry him to the toilet. I admire her strength particularly the fact that she is a single mother. She just never complains. As I write this, a waft of tomato sauce is drifting into my room; her delicious food. How is your day? I hope all is well with you today?

The sister of my father had a disabled kid, she never complained, but when he grew up it became very hard to move him around. She needed to ask for help to the social services when she aged, she had no more the strength to move him.

@LadyDuck That's true. He is an obedient boy although the two boys are always fighting in their room.

That is what I envisaged would happen for my neighbor. We don't have social services that she can run to. I wonder what she will do when the time comes?

@mydanods Let's hope that the younger son will help his mother when he grows up.

A mother should never complain no matter how much of a burden his kids may look to the community. God gives her broader shoulders to carry the weight

Amen. She seems to have the broadest shoulders here. I admire her. As I am writing, 4:53am she is cooking and soon the kids will be woken up. Same routine everyday. 7am they are off to school, she pushing the wheelchair.

@aureliah yes, she works. She works in the same school as her children. So they all go together. It is convenient for her.

She is and humble also. Although she is not my ideal of a woman, but she comes close.

I taught children like that of your neighbor. There are many services that will offer assistance to her. She sounds like a wonderful and loving mother. It's a hard life to do it alone,

If I could be aware of such services, I would inform her about it. Do you have any ideas? Send link. This is Nigeria.

@mydanods I'm hoping Nigeria has a website that can be checked out. Look for social services or government services. You can get a phone number and try to get more information for help.

She is to be admired for her ability to take care of her boys. I hope when the time comes, she gets help with her disabled son.

I hope so too. I believe in the principle that you will reap what you sow. She will surely reap good and blessings in the future. The boys seem intelligent.

I have absolutely great admiration for people like these. 'Salt of the Earth' ! We see the image of God in parents like there.
