Losing my focus

Since the beginning of the year, I have been spending time working on several online sites, which I earn a little bit here and there. It's not really that amount of money I can earn, but I find myself being addicted to these sites. I have set my focus areas in the beginning of the year, working online is certainly not in my list, though I would like to have it, I just don't have enough time and energy to include it. It's true that once I have spent time working online, trying to meet the daily limit, and I have dragging myself away from my focus areas. I guess it's enough for me to be diverted or distracted, and it's time to pull myself back to where I want to be. I also gave myself an excuse to take this month as a break, just be lazy or get lost, but I will have to be back after Chinese New Year or in March. It's good to know where to put a stop. It's good to have someone reminded me. Though I knew about it, I am grateful for my husband to voice it out to remind me. I don't think I would like to give up all the sites I am working on, but I certainly have to spend much lesser time on those sites and also manage my time better. Are you focusing on what you should or are you lost focus as well?

Comparing the total value of the sites you are on helps with these decisions. I have one site I used to obsess about, that made no joy for me. I am finding that I must either have joy or pleasure, such as from MyLot, or regular income such as from writing for Textbroker. Missing sleep over sites does not help. Losing home time does not help. I mostly avoid those focus robbers.

That's good! Thanks for responding to this discussion, as it really serves as a reminder for me. Now I am also losing my focus, at the same areas - spending too much time working online and earning pennies. I will need to start fresh as well! Let's focus! ^_^

@kaka135 I am glad My Lot is here. For me every little bit I earn helps me. I need to finish up one thing and then focus on something new. For me next week it depends on the weather. If it rains I cannot do what I want to do.

Oh - I have been caught up that way with online sites - it is an addiction! I know my time could be better spent being productive in real life, but oh it's just too much fun being on these sites . I do have a lot of things that need tending too . . . so I'm trying to find better balance in my life. It's a wonder how much we can really get done when we force ourselves to shut off the computer .

I am doing badly at Postloop by not going there. I have many forums where I can post but somehow just not inclined. I earn less this way.

I have some sites online that I have been working on lately. Mostly, I concentrate on myLot, although the site where I pick up manuscripts to edit pays more... I do hope that myLot is one of the sites you are planning to stay with, but from the wording of your discussion, it isn't. May I ask a question? What will you do about the people (friends) on myLot who will miss you? I do know we rarely interact anymore, but that doesn't mean I have forgotten about you.

@LovelyxOdd yes but depends on reviewer's ACCURACY. Pioneers are earning more than $50 a DAY, yes that's $50 plus DAILY when there are more calls. Payout is per call.

@LovelyxOdd you can start there by just interacting. Sometimes I earn more from my comments than posting 1,500 words article then post a long intro with introduceyourself (no spaces) as first tag, add multiple images as much as you can i.e. if you love photography and animals add more photos etc. Or if you are a YouTuber you can use dTube or dLive instead.

I understand. I enjoy mylot so although I earn am faster at other sites I prefer spending my time here. Do what you need to do and what works for your family.

Sometimes it can be difficult to balance everything. My main priority are my kids. But I do try to do other things for myself. When I have time.

I guess at some point you need to work out what is important and what can be let go.

I'm still trying to find a focus point! My main goal is to be a mommy to my kids. So I don't want to be online and away from them. My personal goals are to get healthier in mind, body, and spirit. I'm going to church now (yay for transportation issues mostly resolved!) and volunteering to do good things for the community. After that, I don't mind spending some time online between other tasks. I picked one website (here!) and my blog. Its not a job for me, but something fun that does have a reward at the end! if I don't cash out, no big deal. next month or the month after. Whatever it is, is a reward for fun. I like the 5 minute journal you do. so its inspired me to work on maybe doing 2-3 posts in the 5 minutes plus some time before/after to socialize too!

I have terrible concentration problems. So it is enough for me to stay on myLot only.

I try to be always focused on what I want. Set an alarm clock before opening the sites, it can help
