Have you ever felt like you were spinning out of control? I have and it is the scariest feeling ever especially if you don't know why. Waking up one morning and stepping out of bed it hit me. My entire body felt like jelly and I couldn't move. Laid down for awhile, got up slowly later and it had passed but still felt the effects. Dizzy, woozy, light headed, clumsy, unsteady, unbalanced, are just a few of the symptoms associated with Vertigo. Three days later I couldn't stand it anymore, literally, so off to the doctor. Yes it was vertigo he said and I had two choices – medication of physiotherapy. Can I do both I asked. Sure he said. I would try anything just to get rid of those awful sensations. Tried the pills but even though I got some relief the problem was still there so off to the Physiotherapist. It took one session with the Physiotherapist who is specially trained in Vertigo and some practise sessions at home and the symptoms are gone. Hard to believe that the misalignment of some crystals in your inner ear can turn your world upside down. Now I can stand up, walk, lie down, turn without fear of falling or those nasty spinning sensations. It's like I got my life back. It's a miracle. I am told that vertigo is fairly common. Have you ever experienced it or had a similar issue which you were able to resolve with the help of a health care professional?

I suffer from occasional 'drop attacks'. I experience vertigo for a nanosecond and then I sit on the floor or the ground. Nothing can be done against that. I'm lucky insofar that I haven't broken any bones yet and that this hasn't happened while I was crossing a street.

No broken bones here either but that was my greatest fear.

I have had some bouts with vertigo. Feels like I am on a roller coaster ride and I am laying down.

@Freelanzer ......It is like nothing I've ever experienced before. There is a treatment you can do to lessen the bouts.

That is a good description and it is not easy to describe the symptoms to one who hasn't experienced it

I have had it several years ago but nothing like this. It was quite mild then and it didn't stop me from going about my daily life.

I think it was one day last week I woke up and felt very dizzy so went back to bed again. When I finally got it it was ok. I do not know why that happened.

There can be so many reasons for it, some are short lived while others like mine hang around for longer periods and need treatment

I don't often get giddy but my sister-in-law suffers from it and it is very debilitating. I'm glad you've been able to banish yours.
