Hello friends, Most of the women like to apply mehandi on hands and legs here. I dont know whats called mehandi in english. Its a design which is applied on hands and legs. we get this mehandi powder from henna leaves(plant) . some twenty to thirty years back people used to get these henna leaves, make a paste of it and then used to apply it . Now a days we get the readymade powder in the market.. Simply mix some water, lemon juice in the powder and apply , keep it for three to four hours and wash it off.. nice red/maroon color design is ready... well i am not that interested , but apply in sometimes...do you like to apply mehandi , its not a tattoo...

Most of Indian girls like to apply Mehendi...but word of caution ...the ready made mehendi cones available in market are mixed with some chemicals and I have seen at least three or more cases where the hands were very badly affected by its use...Thanks dear @prashu228 !

@prashu228 I feel odd to apply mehndi in my hand at this age like a teenager. I know in North India people does not care and even a grandma uses the same if her hubby is alive. But the culture in Kerala is entirely different and I can't forget what I learnt in my life.

I have tried it once for fun.I do appreciate arts on someone's skin but I don't want it on my own .I preferred just natural skin.I like henna though but on my hair.I like henna dye because it can thicken your hair and gives a smooth, healthy shine. It doesn't contain chemicals unlike commercial dyes that can damage your hair.

It is called Mehendi here, and the material which is applied on the skin is called Hna. It is popular on beaches in summer. It is not that cheap here. Personally, I do not like it, but my husband likes, so I apply it from time to time
