Hahaha! She Fell For It!

I'm the exact opposite. I will only answer a phone call if I recognize the number; if not, I let it go straight to voicemail. It used to be that I would answer any local call I got, but I've noticed over the past year that telemarketers and sales people are now starting to use local numbers when they call, so I've decided not to answer any calls unless I know the number. And it somebody leaves me a voicemail, I will listen to it right away and respond if necessary. If they don't leave a voicemail, well then I guess it wasn't important enough to need to talk to them anyway!

Im one of those that doesnt answer the phone, but i do return messages.

Strange numbers open the curiosity bug in me. I always answer. If it's a missed call, I call back.

Haha. That was very clever. I just hope she comes good for you. You have to wonder why the heck she doesn't just finish up and get out of your life - and get some peace back for herself.

She was probably curious as who would be calling so answered. I hope it works out for you. Where I lived before I had to rent a room in my apartment and it was very difficult to have a stranger around and you find out how honest people are not. I had lots of problems with people.

I will not answer strange numbers, even if local. It could be voip or something. Someone phishing. Her promise is only as good as the air she breathes, since she did not write it on paper.

This trick works many a times...people are curious to know whom is this new person to call them dear @andriaperry ! Here in India most of the sales persons use this trick! Thanks God atleast you got your Job done at the end!

You got her and you have the proof she did not want to talk to you. If she does not come, throw everything.

Actually, that is a new tactic. Telemarketers and scammers know that people don't answer their phone anymore so they spoof numbers that look like your area code and prefix. I don't answer any call unless I recognize the number. So I answer for my kids, other family members, and my best friend and let the rest go to message.

I have tried this trick with so many people who dont pick up my call.

Glad you got a result. I have the opposite problem- a landlord who does nothing and I am just praying the rent does not go up. Legally you cannot withold the rent here to get stuff done.

That was a perfect idea to call from an unknown number

I used to screen calls, but now I answer them so the telemarkers will stop calling.
