Shrove Tuesday is the last day before Lent, a period when people give up eating such things as sugar, fats and eggs. As the tradition goes pancakes were eaten on this day to use up these foods before the 40-day day of Lent began. Although this day is an important one for Christians many people celebrate Pancake Day no matter what their faith is. So who is having pancakes today? We are going to have them for dinner. I enjoy them every now and then with blueberries and real maple syrup. They are so good that way. We will probably have either sausages or bacon with them. I am really looking forward to my dinner this evening.

I didn't really realize it was Pancake Day. Although I do know that my two younger ones were going to have pancakes at daycare, as they're having a pyjama day. They're having fun activities all this week, and I just thought it was a planned activity.

@fatmahabo Beat one egg. Add one cup milk. Mix 1 cup flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, and 1 tsp. sugar. Add: almost 1 tablespoon melted shortening. Grease griddle and heat to medium-high heat. Cook about 1/2 cup batter until well browned, turn over and brown again. Eat with melted butter and syrup.
As a matter of fact. i thought of having pancakes but not really good at making them. If feeling good I will have chocolate chip pancakes. One is enough for me. They are very filling. I didn't make them because I thought I would have something lighter because I am still not feeling well. I finally had a pancake today and it was good with chocolate chips.
