Our lights at the Music Shack

Some of you know we have a couple of small outdoor concerts on our property each summer. For the last concert Vince asked a photographer colleague to attend and take some photos and especially of the lighting. On the night of the concert Vince doesn’t have time to take the sort of photo he wanted. Because the lighting in the Shack is so bright, the lights in the trees don’t show up. The photographer took a photo of both the Music Shack and the lights in the trees then merged the photos. As you can see the result looks pretty good and is more true to what the audience sees. We have several big lights which project different coloured beams into the trees. There is a little box affair which sits on the roof of the Shack and projects moving pinpricks of light among the foliage. The first time we used the laser lights the audience was trying to work out how we got the lights in the trees. The most common assumption was that we’d use a fishing line to ‘cast’ them into the trees. The real answer was much simpler. We have another concert scheduled for March then it will all be packed away again till next summer.
