Favorite "King" Songs #1 - "Sun King"

Consider your mind blown! Mind blown that I'm using this yet again, that is. But with good reason. We are at #1 in my series of my favorite songs with "king" in the title: "Sun King" by The Cult. As @JohnRoberts would say, "It's The Cult. Enough said." And he's right. I've used these guys so many times in these things, that there's really nothing left to say about the British rock band unless I start making stuff up. They are obviously one of my favorite bands, and I have no doubt that they will continue to appear in my music countdowns. "Sun King" was the third single released from The Cult's hit (#10 on The Billboard 200) 1989 album, Sonic Temple. It was the last Cult album to feature bassist Jamie Stewart (vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy have been the band's only constant members,) and the first of many times that they worked with producer Bob Rock. It was also the first appearance of drummer Mickey Curry, who was also in Bryan Adams' band at the time (and had previously drummed for Hall and Oates.) The hard-rocking "Sun King" performed decently, reaching #18 and #21 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks and Modern Rock Tracks charts, respectively, and #39 in the band's native UK. I've linked to what appears to be a homemade, but well done, video. Enjoy! (Again.) (Probably a really tan guy info verified by Wikipedia)

I can sum that up in one word. Amen. How can anyone hate The Cult.

The Trouser Press doesn't like them. But they don't like anyone!

@teamfreak16 What those jeans Trump wheres. I make bad jokes. Let me know if going over board with the whole I make jokes things. Seems to be my blanket snowflake thing that the hard right likes to say I am. I still tell them but snowflakes can turn into ice crystal daggers and fall and kill you in your sleep. So you better be careful.

Just can't believe that you'd have a Cult song at #1 on a countdown. Are you feeling okay? Good song. Good series. Good idea!

"This is where it all ends..." Which, ironically, are the first words uttered on the album. I think this is my favorite Cult album ever. Electric was the first I ever heard, but Sonic Temple was the first one I ever owned. So many fond memories of blasting this and dancing around my bedroom during my senior year of high school.
