In the past I have used the span of time around Valentine's day to complain about my bad luck in romance. And it's not that I've run out of complaints, it's just I have decided, at least for right now - I'm deciding to be more positive. So this year's Valentine's themed posts will be about Unlikely Celebrity crushes! And I would love to know all about yours! So we all know that Val Kilmer and Brad Pitt are major heartthrobs. (Straight guys please reference Carmen Electra and Britney Spears) (- Sorry, I don't know who the more current "hotties" are.) However have you ever had a crush on an unlikely celebrity? Someone who isn't known simply for being hot? Enter: Alton Brown. Alton Brown is a TV personality known for his show "Good Eats", and for being on many cooking related shows on the Food Network TV channel. "Good Eats" was an amazing show. With the use of props, puppets and puns Alton would detail a recipe or a food in each segment. He would explain the science behind how a certain dish comes together. (One example that comes to mind is how and why meringue is fluffy) Even on other shows he's on he brings his unique and geeky sense of humor. That said, I don't enjoy his recipes, since they are usually fairly involved and difficult. (Sorry Alton, lol) Here's the official Good Eats website:
Pop culture, comedy and plain good eating: Host Alton Brown explores the origins of ingredients, decodes culinary customs, and presents food and equipment trends. Punctuated by unusual interludes, simple preparations and unconventional discussions, he'll b

Oh, girl. That is pretty bad. I watched him cook a meal via hot engine from a car on Mythbusters years ago. I'm trying to think of somebody, but I'm drawing a blank.

Ha ha I know I know.... Yeah. That sounds like Alton. He was also on this other show - a cooking competition where the challengers could make opponents do crazy stuff like cooking with mini pans or a ceiling fan or stuff like that....

Alton Brown is the coolest! I haven't watched him in recent years, but I did watch his earlier Good Eats and couldn't wait for the next one. I love the way he explains food/recipes . . . he has definitely given the same ol' cooking show formula a twist. Even Hubby has enjoyed Alton Brown!

@FayeHazel I haven't seen what he does currently . . . I hope he still has his quirky explanation style!

I haven't heard of him, though I do love to eat, so his show would probably be a good one to watch. An unlikely romance for me - Christopher George. He was a good actor and a real hottie in my book. He's also past tense now, for quite a while.

@FayeHazel Maybe it's the hat that made you think he was a cowboy. He could easily have passed for one. Yes, I'm glad I have the series.

It's really entertaining show - in addition to the science side of food prep. I had to look up Christopher George ... wow, he made a nice cowboy for sure

@just4him Hm. Maybe I remember the wrong internet search. I will try again. I'm sorry he passed young - but at least his fans will always remember. Good thing you bought the series.

Nope, no crushes. I don't even like the 'hotties'. Sorry I am not made that way. I am wary of good looking men who know they are 'good looking'. Can't think of anyone. I live too much inside my own head

Good for you. No crushes I think = less drama. Ha ha. Oh, I hear you. Keith Urban was one for me awhile back. When he first became popular a lot of girls were all about how hot he is.... he annoyed me. -- The really good looking usually know it and seem to usually have an attitude about it.

@Gita17112016 True. I love house-sitting this little cat. She is always happy to see me no matter what I look like or how my day has been and she entertains me and gives me love :-)

@FayeHazel Exactly! I appreciate a human being better. And if I have emotional needs I can't see why i can't get a kitten! A bundle of fun and fur.

I've never heard of Alton Brown, but I too have food based crushes. In particular, Nigella Lawson. I know if I ever found myself in a kitchen with her, it would be a recipe for disaster.

There are many handsome actors I like but no crushes. If I was around in the 1950's my crush would have been Elvis Presley.
