In the EU zone the lowest banknote is 5 Euros and the highest 500 Euros (5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500), but many shops are refusing any banknote above 100.

@Mike197602 The ECB will stop to print 500 euros banknotes at the end of this year, the reason invoked is to fight organized crime.

In the US, the lowest is $1 and the highest is $100. Though I think at one point there used to be either $1000 or $10,000 bill.

We have $5 as the lowest and $100 as the highest. There might be special higher notes, I'm not sure, but they would be put out for collectors.

In england, wales and northern ireland the minimum is a £5 note and the maximum is a £50 note. In scotland they have a £100 note but they are rare and I've only ever had 3 personally in my lifetime. £5 is around $7 and £50 is around $70 and £100 is around $140.
