Cyndi Lauper was a big deal once upon a time when she exploded on the scene with “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” Though still recording and considered something of an icon, Lauper is pretty much an 80s relic as her hits and peak of fame came in that decade. It was all downhill following the sensation of her debut album “She’s So Unusual.” “Ah honey, how could you do it We swore each everlasting love I said, well yeah, I know, but when we did There was one thing we weren’t thinking of and that’s money” From “She’s So Unusual,” “Money Changes Everything” is a cover of a 1978 song written by Tom Gray for his band the Brains. The original is obscure while Lauper’s version reached Billboard #27. The song is about how money affects personal relationships. Lauper did an acoustic version for her 2005 album “The Body Acoustic.” Though no longer a hit maker, Lauper continues enjoying professional success. She won an Emmy Award in 1995 for her guest shot on “Mad About You.” In 2013, Lauper received the Best Score Tony Award for the Broadway musical “Kinky Boots.”

I saw her about ten years or so ago. Naturally, she did this. Wouldn't have been the same had she not.

I loved many of her songs. Right now as I am attempting to figure out how to make much-needed money and fins ways to get back to the U.S. I could say the for me money will change everything and then I will just want to have fun.

I was in the pub with her once, way back in the 1980s in Birmingham. She liked girls then ;-)

i searched it on youtube and the original by The Brains was so different! one video showed the actual vinyl record being played on a turntable. i didn't know she went into acting and musical scoring, and i'm impressed she won awards for them.

She was here for the Derby Parade and let go an F-bomb on live TV in front of kiddies on the street. Oops. This is better than some of her other overplayed songs.

I can say I know about her, and have seen her a time or two on TV, but not familiar with her music.
