Belated Valentine's Gift (?)

I know, I know, I will stop complaining soon. This is like, my third post about this topic and this topic doesn't deserve it. However I found it too ironic to not post about. Anyway if you're just tuning in to my complaints - Some number of months ago my friend's single brother starts flirting with me. After about a month of quasi-asking me out, he tells me that he is in love with some married woman (with a few complaints about me thrown in for good measure.) Married chick would be upset if she knew he even texted me.... so no go there. Yesterday I went to my friend's house. Her brother was there. This displeased me, but what to expect? He does live there. As my friend and I were leaving for supper... he calls out to me. Wait a minute. Alright. He returns carrying 2 packages of gourmet looking cookies. I thought he was giving me some kind of delayed Valentine's gift. Not that I expected anything like that from him, but it is what I thought on seeing him offering me the cookies. I accepted, thanked him..... and then he told me.... His married girlfriend had sent them to him for Valentine's - she hand made them - but he was sending them with me - because he's watching his sugar intake. Oh, as a side note: where is the abusive/controlling husband while she's baking Valentine's treats for a single man? Anyway doesn't bother me (much) I'm alright.... I can write about it here but not on social media.... (lucky you guys to keep up with my saga) Is he really that clueless? Or does he enjoy rubbing my nose in it? Anyway, was going to just give the cookies to a neighbor, but... ended up eating some of them. They actually are tasty. Sure, Married Chick - you get the man or should I say - men as you have a husband as well .... I get the cookies. I'm happy that you bake well. Photo: Pixabay

You are right about that. I mis-speak. Would hate to insult the real men on here.

What a thoughtless, cruel thing for him to do. It's seems to me he is playing some very nasty game. I'd bake him some cookies and ice them with melted Laxatives. It's the least you can do.

Someone is going to take a bad fall and soon and that lady has a few screws loose. Both guys I think are losers.

True. I'm personally amazed that she's been stringing him on for the past 8 years. Oh well, guess it's his choice, too. Husband needs to clue in and have a long talk about if they want to stay married / go to counseling / something.... Friend's brother needs to find out if she's ever leaving her husband or just going to keep getting this odd thrill out of keeping him on the hook for ever This chick needs to get over herself a little and decided if she wants to patch it up with hubby or leave him and go with friend's brother..... But she can keep sending him baked goods I decided -- they are tasty

Thanks, I agree. I have been dodging Jay when and where possible. Sometimes difficult though - he still lives with my friend (his sister).

Wow, a common sense malfunction On so many levels: offering you the cookies, getting involved with a married woman, an inflated sense of ego.... Reminds me of this quote.

Ha ha, ah yes. I hope that's all it was on his side... I was starting to wonder if he was playing some kind of mean game or something. Love the quote

@FayeHazel - thats easy, dont accept gifts from him. Never be alone with him. Keep it as hes the brother to your friend. Dont give him advice on anything relationship wise or talk one on one with him.

Ah yes. The trash can idea crossed my mind, but then I thought a neighbor would like them.... and then I got sucked into the chocolately goodness.... I do want to get even with him though. Thoughtless thing to do on his part.

Yeah, right? I'm trying to think of ways to "get back" or "even" I know... that's real mature. I was thinking on giving him a package of tissues. Used tissues. Or something. Ha.
